Description
Sigracet 39 BC is a high-quality non-woven carbon fiber paper gas diffusion medium, featuring an integrated Microporous Layer (MPL) and a 5 wt% PTFE hydrophobic treatment. With a total thickness of approximately 325 µm, it combines excellent mechanical stability, gas permeability, and water management characteristics—making it an ideal choice for advanced Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) applications.
The PTFE coating provides strong hydrophobic properties, effectively preventing flooding within the porous carbon structure. This ensures consistent reactant distribution and stable fuel cell performance, even under varying humidity and temperature conditions.
Developed as part of the Sigracet 39 Series, this GDL is designed for both production reliability and superior electrochemical performance. Its key advantages include:
- Outstanding inter-lot and intra-lot uniformity, with variability maintained within ±10% (2 sigma)
- Enhanced surface flatness, ensuring optimal contact and compression behavior
- Significantly reduced defect rates, delivering high consistency in roll-to-roll production
- Reliable performance under diverse and demanding operating conditions
Sigracet 39 BC offers a cost-effective and robust alternative to conventional woven carbon paper GDL materials—trusted by stack developers seeking both performance stability and manufacturing consistency.
