Description

Sigracet 22 BB is a high-performance non-woven carbon fiber paper featuring an integrated Microporous Layer (MPL) and a 5 wt% PTFE hydrophobic treatment. With a total thickness of approximately 215 µm, this Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) offers exceptional durability and optimized water management for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs).

The PTFE coating imparts strong water-repellent properties, effectively preventing liquid water accumulation and flooding within the porous carbon structure. This ensures stable gas permeability and consistent electrochemical performance even under dynamic humidity and temperature conditions.

The Sigracet 22 Series has been specifically engineered to deliver both manufacturing consistency and high electrochemical efficiency. It offers:

  • Outstanding inter-lot and intra-lot uniformity, with variability controlled within ±10% (2 sigma)
  • Excellent surface planarity, enhancing contact quality and reducing compression issues
  • Minimal defect rate, ensuring roll-to-roll reliability in large-scale production
  • Consistent performance across a wide range of operating environments

Sigracet 22 BB provides a robust and cost-effective alternative to conventional woven carbon paper GDLs and diffusion media, making it a preferred choice for PEM fuel cell stacks and PEM electrolyzer systems in both automotive and stationary applications.
